Experimentation

For my experimentation i found images on the internet that i really liked and then tried to re-create the photo my self. i did these images at home using my own camera. Below are the original images and then my re-creation. 

One the left is the original photograph and on the right is the one i took my self. I think these photos worked quite well as it was really hard to get this one just right as the natural lighting was not the same and i found it rather hard to get the refection the same in the horse eye. But over all i am pleased with the image that i re-created as it was hard using a horse as they don't naturally stand still where you want them too. 

This is the other photo i experimented with and tried to re-create. Again even though it is not perfect i really like the photograph that i manage to produce. This was once again hard to create using a horse as they do not stand still and look where you want them to as easily as a person would but for how hard it is i think that i managed to get a very similar look. Again i am very pleased with my final out come and with a bit more time a experience i would have produce a much better photo. 

Comparing my work to others - Evaluation

*How my photograph is similar to the chosen photographers work. 
Both mine and the original photographers image are both taken in colour, this photo needed to be taken in colour to show the full effect of the red hair. This photo is part of an individual image as it is was just taken as a photo-shoot there were no other images to go with it. Again both mine and the chosen artists images are large format photos taken in a studio. I do believe that mine and the original photo are both sending out the same message as both models have the identical look about them, also both these images are of the same subject as i tried to get them as identical as possible. The images are also composed in a simliar way as they were both taken in the studio using studio lighting, which is based indoors. The photos are taken from a similar distance some for experiments were taken close is and far away from a longer distance. 


Overall Evaluation. 
Overall i am very pleased with my final outcome and i am pleased i chose the image that i did. I found this task quite hard as i knew from the start i would not be able to get it exactly the same as the original but i could get it quite close. It was hard as when taking the photo i also had to make sure i was looking at the original photo checking the lighting and position of the model were all the same. I think my image is quite close to the original, but the faults i would have with it are that my background it too light and could have done with being darker, another fault would be that my model did not have enough hair as the original was a lot thicker and brighter, But i am pleased with the image i created and think it is rather similar to the original as it was a very hard task to complete. Both of these images are taken in a studio using studio lighting. I also had to think about what the model was wearing and what makeup she had on, but this was all easy to sort out and worked well. Both of these images have been edited to look the way they do. Overall i am pleased with my image and if i was to do it again i would pick up on the faults. 

Reproducing An Image - TASK

We were asked to look on the internet and find a photo that we liked and that we would want to re-create. It could be any image we wanted but as long as we could take it within 3 hours. 
Here are some images i looked at to re-create: 

Out of the images above i then decided to do the one of the girls head - For this i would use the studio and use Danie for my model. I took my photos in the studio - i took a number of images and had to change the lighting a few times as it was too dark for what i wanted. Below are all the images i took: 

To re-create this photo i had to get Danie to do her eye make-up the same as in the picture and to make her lips red and i had to organise her hair when she was sat on the stool to make it look as close to the real image as i could. Here are images of the shoot taking place: These photos show all the working progress of the shoot and where and what took place. 

Once all the photos had been taken in the studio i then had to download them all and decided which one i wanted to match the other photo and which one looked most like it - then i needed to edit the photo on photoshop to see if i could match it up anymore by using all the different tools.

Hand Painted Images

RESEARCH: 
Hand-colouring refers to any method of manually adding colour to a black-and-whitephotograph, generally either to heighten the realism of the photograph or for artistic purposes. Hand-colouring is also known as hand painting or overpainting.
Typically, watercolours, oils, crayons or pastels, and other paints or dyes are applied to the image surface using-brushes, fingers, cotton swabs or airbrushes. Hand-coloured photographs were most popular in the mid- to late-19th century before the invention of colour photography and some firms specialized in producing hand-coloured photographs.


This all came from the fact that in the olden times when colour pictures didn't exist they made there own way to make the images colourful. They would print the photo they wanted in black and white and they paint over it using different colours to turn the image into a coloured photo. 

THE TASK:

Our task was to create our own hand painted image. To do this we had to go out and take a full length photo of someone with an interesting background. We then had to download this photo and turn it into black and white using photoshop - The photo was then printed out A4 size and we where then able to hand paint our photo! We were asked to make it very colourful and exciting.

Making my image 3D

To make my image 3D i had to go onto photoshop:
1) I had to start off by Duplicating the Layer 

2) Next we had to go onto 'image', 'Adjustments' and then onto 'Levels' 

 3) When we were on levels we had to change the top layer to 'Red' and put both the output levels to 0 - then click ok. 

4) Once we had done this we then need to click on the second layer and change the Levels of that. Both green and Blue. 

5) Once all the levels of the layers had been changed they should look like this: 

6) The top layer we then had to change the layer to 'screen' - Then click the 'Move' tool and move the top layer down and right a little until it looked 3D through the classes, something like this: 

7) Once we had matched it up to where we wanted it and so it worked and looked well in 3D we had to crop the sides down so it looked like a final finished image. Here is my final outcome: 

To look at this image above now to see it as 3D you will have to use 3D glasses: 

*Another way to do this is to take a photo through each eye and use these one for the top layer and one for the bottom layer. 

3D Images

The task is to use one of my own images and then change this into a 3D image:
here are some images i am thinking about using - \
I am going to pick one of these images and then make it into 3D by using photoshop. 

 The images are best if they are in colour and there are interesting things happening in the photo - such as things sticking out etc, this will help make the 3D image look more creative and interesting.
